American Eagle Type 2 Silver Coin

The American silver coin is produced yearly by the US Mint.  These coins were first introduced in 1986 and features a Walking Liberty on the obverse side of the coin and an eagle on the reverse side of the coin.

The 1 oz American Silver Eagle Type 2 Coin has now been redesigned for the 2021 year. Moreover, this has been done in honor of the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle Coins. The coin was first introduced in 1986 and has been issued regularly since that time.  The front of the coin features the “Walking Liberty” design of the lady Liberty walking along with the sunrise in the distance. The year of the coin (2021), the inscriptions of “LIBERTY,” and “In God We Trust.” Furthermore, the coin includes a “W” mint mark indicating it was struck at the West Point Mint. The new reverse side of the coin features a flying eagle carrying an oak branch.  In addition, inscriptions on the reverse include “United States of America,” “One Dollar,” “E Pluribus Unum,” and “1 oz. fine silver.”

Sunshine Minting produces the silver blanks for the United States-minted silver eagle coins.  The United States Mint then takes the blanks and strikes the coins for release. Furthermore, the coins are produced at the West Point Mint, the Philadelphia Mint, and the San Francisco Mint.
